How To Use A VibratorOnce you become comfortable with the idea of using a vibrator, also known as a personal massager, to awaken sensual desire, you will find that actually using one is easy and enjoyable. With a spirit of adventure and a little practice, it’s a cinch to achieve new levels of erotic fulfillment by using a vibrator! If you’d like some help choosing a vibrator check out “How To Choose a Vibrator” from the Goddess Guide. Once you have one, follow the steps below to get started:
|
|
| 1: | Relax, Let Go Of Guilt Using a vibrator is an excellent way to enhance libido and maintain optimal sexual health. There is no reason to feel guilty about using one. If you find you have a mental block, read “Myths About Vibrators” which reviews the history of vibrators and describes how vibrators were first used by physicians to promote female health! If using a vibrator just feels “wrong” read “How to Become Sexually Uninhibited” which helps you assess your beliefs about self-stimulation and assists you in creating a positive, healthy attitude toward sexuality. |
| 2: | Allot Enough Time Give yourself at least 30 minutes of uninterrupted quiet time. Most women don’t realize that it takes, on average, 20 minutes of continual stimulation of the clitoris to achieve an orgasm. The average time for men to achieve orgasm, on the other hand, is 7.5 minutes which includes 20% of men who experience premature ejaculation (ejaculate within 2 minutes of arousal). |
| 3: | Set the Mood
Play music that turns you on, read a short, erotic story like those found in Naughty Bedtime Stories or Flipside Erotica, then close your eyes and let your imagination run wild...really wild! You may want to turn the lights down, or even install a pink lightbulb to give the room a warm glow. Be sure your space feels safe and relaxing without threat of interruption. Cast out all signs of your daily “to do” list - no dirty dishes or unfolded laundry in sight.
|
| 4. | Meet Your Vibrator
Get acquainted with your vibrator. Hold it in your hand and press all the buttons to see how it responds. Apply the vibrator on various parts of your body at different intensities to see how it feels. Massage yourself with it by pressing it firmly into your muscles. If this is your first time, you might begin by trying it over your clothing as a gentle way of introducing yourself.
|
| 5: | Lubricate.
Can’t say enough about lubrication. Lubrication will make your exploration slippery, smooth sailing! Select lubrication based on the material of the vibrator. If your vibrator is plastic, any lubricant is fine, but a silicone-based lubricant like Pink, or Bliss Bliss provides the best lubrication. Silicone lubricant will be more expensive than water-based, but a little goes a long way. It will last twice as long, providing the ULTIMATE lubrication that never dries up like water-based lubricants do.
If your vibrator is made of silicone, however, use a water-based lubricant because silicone molecules will bond to silicone molecules which can gum up the surface of your silicone vibrator over time. An excellent water-based lubricant is Sliquid Organics Natural. Apply lubricant liberally and take note of the various sensations you feel. For more information on lubricants check out “Lubricants 101” from the Goddess Guide.
|
| 6: | Start Experimenting.
Situate yourself in a comfortable position. Get acquainted with your anatomy by placing the vibrator on various parts of your vulva. Try to discover which parts are particularly sensitive. Explore which pulsations and intensities feel the best. Most women don’t realize that only 30% of women experience orgasm with penetration alone. The far majority of women, 70%, require clitoral stimulation to reach orgasm. So, focus on stimulating the clitoris. When you find the spot that makes your toes curl, you’re there. Now take a deep breath and stay with it.
On average, it takes 20 minutes of continued stimulation for a female to reach orgasm. Continue the stimulation while imagining anything that turns you on. You can enjoy both internal and external application of your vibrator (depending on the design), however, as I mentioned earlier, most women will reach orgasm easiest by external stimulation to the clitoris which is the most sensitive part of the female anatomy with its 8,000 nerve endings (note: the head of the penis has 4,000 nerve endings).
If you’re new to vibrators you might want to try the Hitachi Magic Wand for all around, full-bodied intense stimulation. Another excellent consideration is the beautifully designed, quiet yet incredibly powerful GiGi which can be used to stimulate both the g-spot internally and the clitoris externally.
